Our NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation Course provides delegates with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct unassisted investigations of simple health & safety incidents, how to gather evidence and operate as part of a team on larger scale investigations, how to produce an action plan to prevent recurrences of incidents and ultimately promote a positive safety culture within your organisation.
This course consists of a training room lecture, presentation, and practical assessment.
The NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation Course is ideal for those whose job role requires them to investigate workplace incidents, such as employers, supervisors, SHE champions, union and safety representatives, and anyone looking to further themselves as a Health & Safety Professional.
Delegates should:
- Have a good understanding of written & spoken English. If delegates have any problems with English literacy or language comprehension, they must bring them to the attention of their employer
- Be in good health and physically fit, so that they that may take part in the practical assessment.
The agenda for the NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation Course includes:
- Understanding incident terminology, the moral, legal and financial arguments for investigations and management system requirements.
- Recognising how human and organisational factors can contribute to an incident.
- Outlining the process for investigating accidents and incidents.
- Outlining positive strategies that can be adopted for interviews following accidents or incidents and the barriers to successful interview outcomes.
- Introducing advanced incident investigation techniques.
- Practical Assessment
Successful delegates will receive a physical NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation certificate accredited by the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH). There is no expiry date on the certificate – however, we do recommend that delegates refresh their qualification every 5 years to ensure their knowledge is kept up to date and relevant.
The natural progression from the NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation Course is the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Course.
