Kentec Training is proud to support UK Asbestos Training Association - UKATA’s award-winning Train Safe, Work Safe, Keep Safe asbestos safety campaign, in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)!

As part of this important industry-wide initiative, we will be offering free asbestos awareness training to individuals entering or re-entering the workforce, as well as those considering a career in construction and related sectors. The campaign is designed to ensure that those most at risk are equipped with the knowledge and confidence needed to recognise asbestos hazards and work safely.

Despite ongoing efforts to improve awareness, asbestos remains one of the UK’s most significant occupational health risks. Each week, around 20 tradespeople lose their lives to asbestos-related diseases, a stark reminder of the importance of education, vigilance and early awareness. Many of these deaths are preventable through better understanding of where asbestos may be found and how to manage the risks safely.

Throughout this campaign, we are working with UKATA and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to address this challenge by making high-quality training more accessible. By offering these free sessions, we aim to remove barriers to learning and help individuals gain essential knowledge at a critical stage in their careers.

“Without the support of Kentec Training, the Train Safe, Work Safe, Keep Safe campaign, would not be possible. We have a real opportunity to reach those most at risk and provide life-saving awareness at a critical point in their careers. By taking part, individuals can gain the knowledge they need to protect themselves and work safely in environments where asbestos may be present.”

Craig Evans

UKATA’s Chief Operating Officer

By supporting this campaign, Kentec Training is helping to:

  • Raise awareness of the ongoing risks associated with asbestos

  • Support individuals entering high-risk industries with essential training

  • Promote a stronger culture of safety and responsibility across the sector

  • Contribute to a wider industry effort to reduce asbestos-related harm

We are proud to be supporting this initiative and to play a role in helping improve safety standards across the UK construction and built environment sectors.

"We’re proud to once again support UKATA’s Train Safe, Work Safe, Keep Safe campaign! Having been involved in previous years, we’ve seen first-hand the impact the campaign has had in raising awareness and saving lives. Asbestos is ruthless, dangerous, and doesn't discriminate between the lives it effects, so safety isn’t a liberty we can afford to compromise on, and initiatives like this play a vital role in protecting lives across our industry."
